Maybe a Fort

It only took 14 months for us to use the gift certificate from my mother-in-law for an overnight at the Marriott. While we were away and wondering why we don't do this more often, I took full accountability of 'why'. It's the conflict.

The conflict between having a wonderful time, eating my food warm, having little responsibility and spending money, abandoning my kids, and abandoning my kids.

Somehow though, through it all, I gladly experienced going to the movies and out to dinner, sleeping in, a breakfast buffet, and alone time with Tom.

And after our breakfast buffet, we came back up to the room and got under the covers for a celebratory photo. Celebrating a night with just the two of us. All I could think of was what the kids would make with all those pillows.

What a fabulous gift! So tell me, as to your conflict- was it worth it? I constantly fight that fight- the money, abandoning the kids, I should be putting the money into savings... the reasons go on and on. But then I hit these walls where I feel like our marriage has been put on the back burner while we put out all the little fires our kids start throughout the week. So, tell me your final verdict- I am very interested!

Life's too short and way too sweet to not be tasted (buffet, pillows, guilty and all)
Beijos and love!
